Been doing Java development for some 20 years, almost all on Eclipse. I have tried IntelliJ a few times and even got license (one of my former Employers had team license) and I used it on and off. As much as the UI looks refined and more "polished", for the day to day work, I didn't really find anything that the good old Eclipse does not do just fine. Yes, you sometimes have to close projects you are not working on and may be delete that darn mvn index folder that is 2GB; the rest of it is really comes down to habit/familiarity. For the same reasons I have tried other IDEs and gotten the same mixed feelings. Like buying a car or a house, it comes down to "yes, I like this" moment. Otherwise, I have not seen anyone convince me to use any IDE for X, Y or Z. They say it is great, they say they had an awful experience with Eclipse. I still am looking for some concrete things you can do in IntelliJ but are not doable or difficult in STS(or Eclipse). By the way, have not used Spring/STS; but I have tried them on toy projects. At the end, if you know enough shortcuts in your IDE to make your day to day job joy(or livable at least), you are where you need to be. Switch when you can't use that IDE for some real reason. This other shiny thing is cool does not convince me.

A great source to get started. One question: It seems to me a bit strange to send an event from within an action, cause as far as i understood, the actions should be state-agonistic so that they can be reused in different transitions. Why arent't you using a guard for checking the amount? - Seems to me the cleaner approach.

I feel like the order of the transition config could be order in an easier to understand manner. If I am not mistaken, basically the configuration translates to: If the specified EVENT was called, and the state is SOURCE, then do this ACTION and change the state to the TARGET. So a better order would be: .event().source().action().target() I feel like this is much more readable. That aside, thanks a lot for the video! It made this overwhelming concept much easier.

Thank you. I had my very first Spring class today. I wanted to do something that had me in the situation of having multiple implementations to an interface and that part wasn't covered (yet?). So I did my very own demo of this for my own comprehension of Spring. I also used a version using the Resource annotation. We were taught that one today but passing the class identifier as String in its name property kinda like Qualifier. The good thing is there is another type property I can use instead to avoid magic strings. It is precisely what I don't like about Qualifier. I shall find a way to extract and format the class name in a way that is not too verbose but I could not succeed for it also expects that string to be a constant. Also I noticed that Resource is fine on its own. Autowired is mandatory with Qualifier. This video was very helpful.
